Beyond the Physical Border there is Eternity in the Physical World
Film, 2023

Svetlana shares;

“In January 2022, while walking on the sunny Black Sea shore, my world was forever altered by a life-changing event. At that very moment, my Mum received the devastating cancer diagnosis, and a short conversation with the doctor completely shifted my perception of the world. Amid the serene seaside, I experienced a profound sensory-perceptual alteration that would forever change how I viewed the sandy beach. Suddenly, I became aware of the passage of time and the inevitability of facing a life-after-death state without my beloved Mum by my side. The beach, which once brought me joy through the sparkling reflection of the sun's rays near the waterline, now held a much deeper significance. Each shell, dry seaweed, and coastal plant seemed to beckon an emotional connection as if they, too, held a story of life and loss.

I found myself contemplating the essence of existence as I gazed at the countless sand grains beneath my feet. At that moment, they seemed to reveal a hidden truth: they were once part of someone or something else, and now, they represent multitudes, presenting a chronology of life-after-death year by year.

The whispering sea, with its gentle waves, played its part in this profound realisation. It washed away the lifeless bodies of sea creatures and, through the alchemy of wind, rain, and snow, transformed them into the very sand I walked upon. This realisation stirred a deep sense of interconnectedness with all living beings, and it became clear that life after death was not merely a concept but a tangible reality visible through the very fabric of my surroundings.

As I faced the uncertain future without my Mum, I found solace in the eternal cycles of waves, wind and nature that unfolded before me on that sandy beach. Her physical presence might be gone one day, but her essence would continue to exist in the grand tapestry of my life, in my every cell, and interwoven with the shells, the sand, and the sea."
